Unfortunately, they were repeatedly impeded during the race by slower crews who crashed ahead of them, causing them to come to a complete halt more than once. This meant that, despite finishing as the fastest crew in their event on raw time by 5 seconds, they were pipped to the win by a masters D crew after handicaps were applied. Though disappointed, Gill and Judith will no doubt have confidence in their potential for the rest of the season.
