Medals at Peterborough Junior Championships

The Juniors had a successful day at the Peterborough Junior Championships on 24th June. Racing strong crews from clubs and schools around the country, 18 Cantabs crews had a great day out, and came home with 2 silver and 2 bronze medals between them.

A total of 436 crews entered the regatta, with the Cantabs juniors well-represented across all categories with a total of 18 crews entered.

Max Casciato, Paolo Cicolecchia, Theo Seamon, Oscar Coppins and cox Joshua Pearson won silver in the J13A.4x+, with Max and Paolo following that up with another silver in the J13A.2x. Theo and Oscar went on to win bronze in the J13A.2x. There were also medals for Tom Sharrock and Arthur Poole, who won bronze in J14B.2x.

The junior girls also had a good day of racing, with a W.J15A.2x, W.J14B.2x and W.J13A.4x+ just missing out on the medals and finishing 4th.

The club’s Junior Development Officer, Gary O’Shea, was extremely pleased with the crews’ performances, saying that “the squad showed they can gain medals and compete with the best across the region”.
